Introduction
The Anjolique Dance Company is a youth based dance group that was conceptualized and founded in August 2006 by Director and Choreographer, Tricia Greaux. ADC welcomes both male and female dancers.
Genres taught include semi-classical ballet, lyrical, modern, jazz and afro-Caribbean.
There are two dance campaigns that ADC has mandated to carry out Awareness Through Dance and DVIBES – Dance Videos Boosting Entertainment Stars.
Vision and Goal
The goals for Anjolique Dance Company (ADC) are to develop the dancer’s technique, self-assurance and performance skills. Also to dance as a teaching and sensitizing tool for exposing and highlighting social and environmental issues that affect our community through the use of performance arts. The ADC will also provide capacity building opportunities for the dancers via methods to increase the cultural intelligence, dance scholarships and other training opportunities.
Objectives
- The holistic development of a dancer; dance technique, mental strength and self-awareness and to produce memorable performances.
- To expose the dancer to techniques in different genres like semi classical ballet, modern, afro-Caribbean/Caribbean folklore, modern jazz and hip-hop.
- Create a heightened awareness of historical, social and cultural importance of the performing arts.
- Incorporate dance as a teaching and sensitization tool highlighting social and environmental issues that affect the community.
